Eye Brow Lamination also known as an “Eyebrow Lift” is an alternative to microblading and eyebrow extensions. Each individual hair is straightened to perfection with a semi-permanent solution which can last up to 6 – 8 weeks. It is also a keratin treatment that not only stimulates growth while strengthening the brow hairs, but creates thick, fluffy, and full brows.

The results take care of spaces between thinning brow hair, smoothed out unruly hair growth, and take the overall shape in a more vertical direction. Henna colour can also be applied to the brow to help give the brow a smoother fuller brow if there are not as many hairs to work with.

Basically, anyone can receive this treatment including men. It gives a nice groomed look for the brows. You must have some eyebrows in order for this treatment to work. If there is too little of hair to work with the lamination may not work effectively.

Potential risks and side effects

While brow lamination is not invasive compared to brow surgery, tattooing, or other related procedures, there are still some side effects to know before booking your appointment. Such risks are mostly related to skin irritation caused by the chemicals. These include:

  • Swelling

  • Redness

  • Peeling

  • Itching

  • Bumps

The side effects may occur directly beneath and above the eyebrows, but they may also extend to your eyelids.

This procedure may not be recommended if you have:

Just as perming the hair on your head can lead to dryness and damage, brow lamination could potentially damage your eyebrows in the same way. Your chances are greater if you repeat the process too often, or sooner than 6 weeks. Another more serious risk is eye damage. This may occur if the chemicals run into your eyes during the procedure. Anyone who is breastfeeding or is pregnant may not receive an Eyebrow

Brow Lamination Benefits

Eyebrow lamination may help address a variety of concerns you may have with your own brows, including:

  • Thinning hair that may occur with age

  • Gaps in your brows from over plucking or over waxing in the past

  • Unruly hairs that tend to go different directions despite brushing them

  • A lack of shape or unevenness

Overall, brow lamination is said to make brows look thicker and fuller. Pulling the hairs up vertically may also make it look like you are experiencing new growth. The entire process is also completely non-invasive amination.

Aftercare of Brow Lamination

  • Avoid touching the brow area at the risk of transferring oils

  • No self-tanner products should be used on the face for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
